Clinic Manager (Northampton) & Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
The ability and need to use speech and language to communicate is unique to only human beings. Effective communication is not only vital for our survival but also is a means to realise our dreams and aspirations. As a speech and language therapist I enjoy the opportunity to help children and adults with communication difficulties improve their quality of life. With ample evidence for the benefits of early intervention in children, I am passionate about working with parents, family, carers, teachers and other professionals to bring about positive changes in the lives of the children I see.
I have experience in working with adults with acquired neurological disorders (e.g. as a result of a stroke, head injury), progressive neurological conditions (e.g. dementia, Huntington’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease) and mental illness. I have a special interest in helping people with voice disorders, stammering and in transgender voice therapy.
My two favourite words are metamorphosis and yoga. Metamorphosis or transformation is a life process and I endeavour to be an agent of positive change in the lives of others. The word ‘Yoga’ means ‘to unite with one’s inner self and align our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual self with the universe for our wellbeing so that we are in flow and not against the flow of the universe.
